Development Strategy

OCH’s Development Strategy outlines plans for building more affordable housing​. The City of Ottawa’s 10-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan targets OCH to add an average of 300 affordable homes per year.​ OCH’s Development Strategy is being proactive, so we not only meet that City’s target but are ready for future funding/partnership opportunities that become available to add more.​

OCH own and operate over 15, 000 homes. The vast majority of the OCH homes are subsidized (also known as community or social housing). Approximately 10% of the portfolio is considered below average market rent. Find out more about our rentals here.
