What the 2025 Budget Means for You
Repairs and Maintenance for Your Home
The 2025 budget will continue to improve your homes and communities through investments in the following projects:
- $32 million in building and maintenance repairs
- $2M for the Fire Safety System Renewal Program
- $2M for the Site Renewal Program
- $2.5M for the Cladding Renewal Program (outer wall replacement)
- $1.4M for the Roofing Program
- $1.7 million for green retrofits that lower OCH’s carbon footprint – creating more sustainable communities that cost less to heat and cool.
Tenant Support Programs
This year’s budget has money dedicated to programs that support OCH tenants including:
- Subsidy Loss Support: Assistance with filing paperwork, taxes and other guidance to help tenants keep their subsidies.
- Complex Care Housing: Working with community partners to provide specialized care for tenants with complex needs.
- Community Safety Services: Allocated funds to support community safety initiatives.
More Affordable Homes Are Coming
OCH is building 868 new affordable homes! This means more people will have access to affordable places to live. These homes will be built in different neighborhoods across Ottawa.
The 2025 budget continues to drive our work in building stronger and more sustainable OCH communities.
