On Aug. 19, we unveiled some significant community improvements at Hintonburg Place.

The work included new mailboxes, new ceramic flooring in the hallways and lobby, and fresh paint and lighting.

The building has 119 residents, was constructed in 1992, and needs an update.

Sagal, the building’s Community Developer, brought some samples to tenant meetings so residents could suggest the colour scheme.

The program was launched in 2017 with a clear vision to be driven by the tenants, empowering them to be involved in their community’s development. This is why we consult on colour themes, ensuring that the residents have a say in the decisions that affect their living environment.

The investment at Hintonburg Place was $200,000, and it is just one of the 13 properties that will get community improvements to the hallways, common areas, and lobby.

Each welcome home allows staff from many departments to work together. Our staff, from Asset Management to Property Management, Maintenance workers, and Community Developers, have all played a crucial role. And, of course, residents have shared their valuable input and shown great patience during the renovation process. The result is a brighter, more welcoming building.

“By investing in improvements in our properties, lobbies, and common areas, we are fostering a sense of community pride and showing our residents that they are valued. “This investment will make a significant difference to the more than 100 residents who call 395 Parkdale home,” said Stéphane Giguère, Chief Executive Officer, OCH.
